And this CNN article devotes 6 short paragraphs to the Sandusky business, sandwiched in between tons of praise for the man.

Fuck you, media.

NOTHING PATERNO EVER DID is as important as the fact that he allowed children to be raped. Nothing.

I love how people can completely…

The Man made one mistake, granted it was a huge mistake and it cost him is job and dealt a serious blow to his reputation but it was a mistake. Let me state this now, I am in NO WAY condoning Coach Joe Paterno’s actions during Jerry Sandusky’s years of sexual misconduct with young boys at Penn State..But Coach Paterno did alot of good for Penn State in his tenure with the University, In fact he gave millions to the school which would eventually erect a statue and library in his name. He had the highest graduation rate among all College Coaches in the history of the NCAA. Let the family grieve, let the people of state college, Pennsylvania mourn he means alot more to them then just one transgression

It wasn’t just one transgression. It was active facilitation of the rape of young boys. I don’t have a problem with his family grieving. I have a problem with the Penn State community, the mainstream media, and various folks on Tumblr and Facebook straight up saying that Paterno’s legacy shouldn’t be tarnished. That his football wins should outweigh covering up the rape of children. That’s insulting. Paterno’s lack of action about Sandusky SHOULD tarnish his career. It should be the first and most important thing people know about him, because it’s a morally disgusting thing that he did. And history should never forget about it, OR forgive him.

For the record I never mentioned his football wins…in fact I couldn’t give a damn about his football wins, it isn’t like penn state is my team. I’m just saying that this man has done far more for his community as a whole, giving millions to the school and numerous other charities. His legacy is tarnished there’s no doubt about that and there’s no way around it what he did was unfortunate and terrible…it was misguided and should have never occurred. It won’t be forgotten…but don’t let it overshadow the good he did for that community that would be unfair, he brought State College Pennsylvania together in fact he brought the whole state of Pennsylvania together, for the one bad, disgusting thing he did do which was turn his back when children were being raped by a trusted coach..for that one awful misjudgement..he also did plenty good in his life…so don’t let it completely wash away the good that he did do and only focus on that one thing.
